2 drive-thru clinics offering free flu vaccines this month. Here’s what you need to know.

The beginning of fall also marks the start of flu season.

While the flu peaks between the months of December and February, it can also begin to circulate as early as October, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

But help is on the way.

Texas Health’s Faith Community Nursing team is hosting two drive-thru clinics in Stephenville this month that will give residents nine years and older a free flu vaccine.

And here’s the best part: You never leave your car.

No insurance or ID is required; all you have to do is show up, drive thru, and voila, you’re vaccinated from the flu.

The first clinic will be held from 4-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, at First United Methodist Stephenville, located at 422 W. Washington Street.

The second clinic will take place from 3-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at Oakdale Methodist Church, located at 2675 W. Overhill Drive.

Aside from COVID-19, the flu is the deadliest vaccine-preventable disease in the U.S., resulting in millions of illnesses every year, hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations and tens of thousands of deaths.
