The 12th annual American Rodeo Championship has announced its big weekend lineup April 11-12 at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
This year’s roster showcases the sport’s most dominant athletes and inspiring comeback stories, with 180 competitors ranging in age from 11 to 53 and representing four countries, 31 U.S. states, 10 National High School Rodeo Association athletes and 29 World Champions.
Several Erath County residents will also compete in the event.
From Stephenville there's Martha Angelone, Shelby Boisjoli-Meged, Jacob Carige, Shay Carroll, Jackie Crawford, Kaleb Driggers, Travis Graves, Ky Hamilton, Buddy Hawkins, Cory Kidd, Hailey Kinsel, Jake Long, Logan Medlin, Haven Meged, Clint Summers, Wesley Thorp and Jonathan Torres.
Those from Dublin include Kelsie Domer, Logan Moore, Kassie Mowry and Tasha Welsh.
Eight-time World Champion and two-time American Rodeo Champion Stetson Wright returns to competition after overcoming a career-threatening injury, while six-time World Champion and three-time American Rodeo Champion Kaycee Feild and five-time World Champion Luke Branquinho come out of retirement.
The lineup also features two-time World Champion tie-down roper and two-time American Rodeo Champion Shad Mayfield, 23-time World Champion and American Rodeo Champion Jackie Crawford, four-time World Champion barrel racer and three-time American Rodeo Champion Hailey Kinsel and 11-year-old barrel racing prodigy Dusky Lynn Hall.
The American Rodeo Championship Weekend kicks off on Friday, April 11, with the Contender Finals, where the top five finalists in each discipline will secure their spot in Saturday’s main event.
From there they will face off against the top five athletes from the 2024 year-end standings in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Associationand Women’s Professional Rodeo Association.
These contenders will not only compete for the title but are also eligible for the $1 million bonus.
In addition to the thrilling rodeo action, the weekend’s entertainment lineup is just as exciting.
Bailey Zimmerman, the 2023 ACM Awards New Male Artist of the Year nominee, will perform on Friday, April 11, bringing his high-energy performance as the final Contender field is determined.
The musical excitement continues on Saturday, April 12, with Riley Green, a country sensation celebrated for his chart-topping hits and authentic Southern sound.
The event will broadcast live on FOX, FS1, and FS2, bringing Western sports to a national audience.
