Beneath the Book Club discussion: I absolutely loved Malibu Rising! What did you think of June’s read?

Ok, book clubbers!

I totally enjoyed Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

I tore through June’s book in 48 hours and felt a little sad when it was over.

Of course, I loved the fact that it was set in Malibu, California and featured a family of superstar surfers, but what I really loved was the drama.

This unique story surrounds four siblings in a 24-hour period leading up to the annual star-studded summer party held by sister Nina Riva.

Nina is a talented surfer and supermodel whose husband has recently left her for a famous tennis star.

Her brothers Jay and Hud have a secret between them that could destroy their relationship and the baby of the family – Kit – is struggling to come to terms with her own truth.

Top it off with the fact that their father is legendary singer Mick Riva whose troubled marriage to their mother is an epic part of the story as well.

I love Reid’s style of writing and plan to read her latest book, Carrie Soto is Back, as my next in-between. Carrie made an appearance in Malibu Rising as the woman who stole Nina’s shady husband.

I can’t wait to read her story.
