Adobo Cantina by Chef Aarón Sánchez, a new campus Mexican food option partnering Tarleton State University, its food service provider Sodexo and the award-winning chef, author and TV personality, held its grand opening last week.
Sánchez has starred in multiple Food Network shows, most notably “Chopped” and “Chopped Junior,” and has been a judge on FOX's hit culinary competition series “MasterChef” and “MasterChef Junior.”
He is also the chef and owner of Johnny Sánchez restaurant in New Orleans.
“I’m so excited to be opening Adobo Cantina in my home state of Texas, bringing the authentic flavors of Mexico and my childhood in El Paso to the students of Tarleton State,” he said.
“Stephenville is at the heart of Texas, and it embodies everything that makes this state special. Our goal is to channel that same energy through our food, giving Tarleton State students and faculty another reason to love Stephenville and our wonderful state.”
Adobo Cantina, the first station inside the front entrance to the Tarleton State Dining Hall, features a menu designed to bridge traditional Mexican food with a modern approach using the very best ingredients.
The newest Dining Hall option will be open 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4:30-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4:30-7 p.m. Friday.
