Christina’s American Table: This upscale restaurant in downtown Granbury was the perfect setting for date night.

Updated: 1 day ago

Chilean sea bass is one of my favorite dishes and this one was superb.

We have been tired; exhausted from all of the cooking, wrapping, shopping and busyness that comes with a happy holiday season.

So early this week we made a reservation at Christina’s American Table in Granbury where we met our best friends for dinner.

Christina’s is now located on the first floor of the Nutt House Hotel and its relaxed, upscale vibe provided the perfect setting to enjoy an intimate dinner with close friends.

We arrived to the restaurant a little early last night for a drink. The bar was full so we sat in a cozy seating area complete with velvet chairs, couches and fireplace.

The restaurant has an impressive list of specialty and classic cocktails like The Nuthouse (Disaronno, Frangelico, espresso cream, cream of coconut, toasted coconut and nutmeg), negroni, whiskey sour and a nice list of wines.

I enjoyed a dirty martini served in a perfectly chilled glass.

We started with a charcuterie board and cup of French onion soup that had my eyes rolling to the back of my head.

My entrée included the fresh fish special – Chilean sea bass served over a bed of mushroom risotto. It was delicious.

Other dinner entrees include chateaubriand, prime rib, filet mignon, braised beef short ribs and salmon. The Husband ordered duck and it was equally delicious.

A la carte items include lobster mac and cheese (order it!), seared scallops, lobster tail, asparagus and balsamic Brussel sprouts.

Christina’s also has a delicious-sounding brunch and lunch menu that includes crab benedict, prime rib hash, chicken and waffles, coconut stuffed French toast, steak frites, New England lobster roll and lobster grilled cheese.

 We will be back.

If you decide to give this restaurant a try at its new location, make a reservation. It was a packed house.

We ended a beautiful evening with a delicious cappuccino.

I had the pleasure of dining at Christina’s American Table recently, and it was a fantastic experience! The ambiance was perfect for a special night out. The meal reminded me of the time I learned how to cook beef sweetbreads for an asado – the flavors were just as unforgettable!
