A full-scale manhunt for three missing teenagers that escaped from a juvenile detention center is now focused on the Hutchins/Dallas area.
DPS Sgt. William Lockridge told Beneath the Surface News about 7 a.m. Monday that one of the missing teens is wanted for murder.
“We have every available agency out here searching for them,” Sgt. Lockridge said. “One of them is wanted for murder and that is why we have such a large law enforcement presence.”
The suspects reportedly escaped from the detention center about 6:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Dublin Police Chief Cameron Ray said the men, identified as Kamerin Michael McDole, Isaiah James Lauderdale and Asheton Marshall, stole a Ford pickup and fled to Dublin where they robbed One Stop, located at 202 South Patrick Street.
“They entered the store brandishing two firearms and demanded the clerk’s cell phone,” Chief Ray said. “They stole some money and tobacco products, then fled.”
Ray said the clerk was “very shaken up,” but able to provide a clear description of the suspects to authorities.
After leaving One Stop, Ray said the suspects wrecked the pickup just north of Morgan Mill and fled on foot before stealing another vehicle from a home in Morgan Mill.
“We have no indication as to why they came here,” Ray said. “There are no ties to the area that we know of.”
Ray said the suspects are no longer in Erath County and have been spotted in the Hutchins/Dallas area.
“It’s been a long night, but the important thing is that there is no longer a threat in Erath County,” Ray said.
“This was a great show of support and cooperation between law enforcement agencies. Everyone is doing their part.”
