Eclectic, modern, chic: Venture No. 19 is Stephenville’s newest retailer and it's a stunner.
Updated: Oct 26, 2020
A new store in Stephenville is giving you another big reason to shop locally.
Venture No. 19 is located at 2101 W. Washington Street (next to Jimmy Johns) and it’s the brainchild of the creative people who brought you Barefoot.
(It’s also their 19th venture, hence the name.)
I was able to score a sneak peek of the store before it opened and was absolutely stunned by what I walked into.
The first words that come to mind: Eclectic, modern, chic.
The sprawling store is warm and welcoming with low lighting and an array of interesting things that will make you want to shop for hours.
Think an entire section of amazing gourmet delights and holiday treats that will make you swoon.
There are books and candles and hats and slippers (nothing cheap, but not overly-expensive either); home décor and Christmas stuff for days.
There is a children’s section with clothes and books and games (they even have a Lite Brite).
And, of course, there are tons of gorgeous things for women like sweaters, leather shorts and skirts, dresses, pants, jumpsuits and cute tops you will want to don for the holidays.
There’s no shortage of accessories either.
There’s even a men’s section and The Husband will soon be the proud new owner of the softest pullover he has ever worn.
(We are taking a trip to Aspen in December and he is going to be looking good!)
I asked owner Katy Copeland to explain the inspiration behind Venture No. 19.
“Our inspiration really came from our four stores in Fredericksburg,” she said. “We took a little bit of our best sellers from our gourmet store and our mercantile to make this.
“What’s unique about Venture No. 19 is that it’s a one-stop shop. There is literally something for everyone.”
Indeed.
Each item was carefully handpicked by a talented group of ladies like Katy, Tess Cutbirth (who will be managing the store) and Kristin Cashon.
“We chose every item ourselves,” Tess said. “There is nothing in this store each of us wouldn’t want to buy.”
Venture No. 19 will be open from 9 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon–4 p.m. on Sunday.
