Erath County 4-H is raising money for a new activity center and needs your help. Here are a few ways to give.
The Erath County 4-H program is working to raise money for a new activity center, which has been in the planning stages for about 10 years.
A letter to potential donors states that Erath County 4-H services the entire county, offering shooting sports, Stephenville 4-H Club, Morgan Mill 4-H Club, robotics, Bluff Dale 4-H Club and the Dairy Club, which have produced state and national qualifiers.
There are 41 adult volunteers and 404 youth members.
The center will be a 150’x 86’ metal and concrete block building with a kitchen/concession, restrooms, storage, office and meeting rooms located on the Erath County Livestock Association showgrounds.
It will accommodate indoor shooting and archery, making it the only building of its kind in the area.
The new center will provide a place to host the 4-H kickoff, awards banquets, workshops for food and nutrition, fashion and interior design, photography, pasture to packer, parliamentary procedure teams, educational presentations and contests.
The building will be used almost every night of the week, giving clubs a place to meet, store equipment, practice and host competitions.
