Erath County grand jury indicts shoplifting suspect accused of assaulting employee.

Roland Temple

An Erath County grand jury on Wednesday indicted five individuals, including 38-year-old Roland Temple for robbery, a second-degree felony.

“He was caught stealing merchandise and when an employee tried to stop him, he knocked them down and hit them with a door,” District attorney Alan Nash told Beneath the Surface News.

“This was a shoplifting case, but because (Temple) assaulted an employee of the merchant, it became a robbery.”

Thirty-year-old Raul Chavez was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon – a second-degree felony – after allegedly cutting a woman with a broken beer bottle during a fight at an apartment building, Nash said.

Chavez is being held at the Erath County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

Others indicted include Domonique Hoskins for driving while intoxicated (with a child passenger), Matthew Tankersley for possession of a substance and Amanda Lee Ybarra for theft.
