Erath County sheriff’s deputy sworn in as liaison for the U.S. Marshals Service.
Erath County sheriff’s deputy Cameron Chance has a pretty cool new gig as a liaison for the U.S. Marshals Service.
Chance was sworn into the position in Dallas on Thursday.
Sheriff Matt Coates said the role means that Chance will work with U.S. Marshals to locate and apprehend suspects who flee to Erath County from other areas.
“The U.S. Marshals office called our office to see if we were interested in this, and we were,” Coates said. “(Chance) was handpicked because he is a go-getter and was interested in doing it.”
Chance has been a deputy with the Erath County Sheriff’s Office for two years.
