If you need help providing food for your family, these Erath County mobile food pantries can help.

Updated: Oct 19, 2023

The Erath County United Way and HOPE are working together to address food insecurity with two monthly mobile food pantries.

Earlier this year Jill Scott, executive director of HOPE, reached out to Erath County United Way with an urgent need for assistance for the Stephenville Community Pantry and Dublin Mobile Pantry.

“She had been notified that a freight delivery fee would be added to the mobile pantries from TAFB to cover the rising fuel costs,” ECUW executive director Lisa Scroggins told Beneath the Surface News.

“This was a shock because the mobile pantries are strictly volunteer and have no source of income to cover these costs.”

The ECUW’s board of directors didn’t hesitate to jump in and help, funding the mobile pantries for an entire year.

The pantries are free for anyone living in Erath County.

In September, Stephenville’s mobile pantry served 275 individuals and families and Dublin’s mobile pantry served 170.

By supplying fresh produce, canned goods and healthy frozen items, the pantries provide valuable meal supplementation to those in need.

The Stephenville Community Pantry is held from 5-6:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of every month in the First Baptist Church parking lot at 334 W. Green Street. (The next one is Thursday, Oct. 19.)

The Dublin Mobile Pantry is held from 5-6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of every month in the First Baptist Church of Dublin parking lot at 220 E. Live Oak. (The next one is Thursday, Nov. 2.)

You can designate funds to be used for the mobile food pantries through the Erath County United Way.
