Teachers of Tomorrow , the nation’s top alternative teacher certification program, has announced that Jennifer Feuquay, who teaches art and one-act play at Tolar High School, has been named the 2025 Texas Teacher of the Year.
This outstanding educator has gone above and beyond to make a difference in students’ lives, and we are proud to recognize their dedication and passion.
“Every once in a while, you have the pleasure to come across a natural born teacher,” said mentor Brian Rosson, who nominated Feuquay.
“Her lessons are impeccably well planned and detailed, as if she has been teaching for years. Ms. Feuquay is dedicated to her profession and teaches art as if it is one of the most important subject areas to be learned.”
Teachers of Tomorrow operates in several states nationwide, recognizing the brightest new educators through its Teacher of the Year competition.
The program celebrates first-year teachers nominated by school principals and ToT field supervisors across Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Texas. State winners receive a $500 award for classroom supplies and professional development.
“The first years for a new educator can be immensely challenging and incredibly rewarding” said Dr. Heath Morrison, CEO of Teachers of Tomorrow, which is celebrating 20 years of excellence.
“We honor the dedication and determination shown by educators enrolled in our programs. Jennifer Feuquay is transforming lives in the classroom with her unwavering commitment to Texas students and the teaching profession.”
Each state winner now advances as a finalist for the National Teacher of the Year competition, where the ultimate winner, chosen by public vote, will receive a $5,000 prize.
