A full-scale manhunt for three missing teenagers that escaped from a juvenile detention center is underway in Erath County.
DPS Sgt. William Lockridge told Beneath the Surface News that one of the missing teens is wanted for murder.
The Hood County Sheriff's Office listed the suspects in a Facebook post as Kamerin Michael McDole, Isaiah James Lauderdale and Asheton Marshall.
“We have every available agency out here searching for them,” Sgt. Lockridge said about 7 a.m. Monday. “One of them is wanted for murder and that is why we have such a large law enforcement presence.”
The teens reportedly escaped about 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
After escaping from the detention center, Lockridge said the teens fled to Dublin where they stole a vehicle that had guns inside, then robbed a gas station.
“They went into a gas station and stole the clerk’s phone and money,” Lockridge said.
Sgt. Lockridge said there is no vehicle description and that the search for the suspects continues in Erath County.
Agencies involved in the manhunt include the Erath County Sheriff’s Office, Dublin and Stephenville police departments, DPS and Texas game wardens.
Scent dogs and horses are also being used.
Morgan Mill School has been closed for the day.
