Learn how to grow vegetables at this class hosted by Erath County Master Gardeners.

Erath County Master Gardeners is set to host its next adventures in gardening class from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension office in Stephenville.

 

Certified master gardener Ken Stokes will conduct the class on growing vegetables.

 


He has been growing vegetables in Erath County for more than 25 years and will offer expert advice on:

 

·       Choosing a garden location

 

·        Planning what to plant and when

 

·       Preparing the soil

 

·       Planting

 


·       Watering

 

·       Controlling weeds and pests

 

·        Harvesting

 

“As with all of our classes, the course material is based on field-proven gardening practices developed by researchers at Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service,” ECMG board president Donna DeCross told Beneath the Surface News.

 


“Our handouts, including the AgriLife Texas Home Vegetable Gardening Guide, reinforce the course material and provide a reference for attendees when they start their gardening projects.”

 

Registration fee is $10 and can be made at the door.
