Local Dems hosting cookout with state-wide candidates this weekend.

The Erath County Democratic Party is hosting a meet-the-candidates event from 3-4:30 p.m. Saturday at the small pavilion at Stephenville City Park.

Dr. Moumin Quazi, president of the organization, said the event will include free burgers and a chance to meet candidates like Janet Dudding for state comptroller, Luke Warford for railroad commissioner, Susan Hays for ag commissioner, Tracy Fisher for state board of education district 14, and a number of candidates for Supreme Court justice and court of criminal appeals.

“We will also have a special video message from our candidate for Governor Beto O’Rourke,” Quazi said.

The event is free and open to the public.
