Local organizations can now apply to receive a grant from the Terrell Foundation; deadline Nov. 8.




The Terrell Foundation will award its 2024 grants in December and local charitable organizations are now invited to apply.


Since its formation in 1951, the foundation has awarded grants totaling more than of $811,000 to more than 100 organizations like the Boy Scouts, CASA, Cross Timbers Family Services, Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council, Erath County Child Welfare Board, Habitat for Humanity, Erath County Humane Society, Keep Stephenville Beautiful, Girl Scouts, Pets Are Worth Saving, Inc., Restoration Advocates, Stephenville Historical House Museum and Stephenville Soccer Association.

Current board members of the Terrell Foundation include Nicki Beth Jones, Penny Elliott, Kendall Nix, Alisa Terrell Starbird, Gary Sult, Frank Terrell and David Castleberry.


Last year the foundation awarded $45,550 in grants.


The Terrell Foundation was formed 71 years ago by Stephenville physician J.C. Terrell in honor of his parents, Will and Edith Terrell.

HOW TO APPLY


Grant recipients must be 501(c)(3) charitable entities.


Requests for grants should be made in writing to the Terrell Foundation in care of First Financial Trust, PO Box 998, Stephenville, Texas 76401 or by calling 254-918-6262 to request an application form.


Applications must be returned by Nov. 8.


Applicants must be Stephenville area entities with a focus on arts and culture, human and social services, health and medical research, education, animal welfare, religion, science, community development, civic activities or the environment.
