Meet Sugar: This sweet girl is a real lovebug. (And she's up for adoption.)

Updated: Oct 26

Say hi to Sugar.

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Sugar, a seven to eight-year-old female Pit Bull mix.

“She is a very happy girl,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “She needs a couple of days to decompress in a new environment, but then returns to her happy, smiling self.

“This beautiful lady is a huge lovebug.”

Sugar is definitely a couch dog and loves to cuddle up to watch TV. One of her fosters said she did well with other dogs and rides well in a car.

“We always recommend a meet-and-greet with current household dog,” Serena said. “And she is very strong on a leash.”

Sugar is house and crate-trained.

She is also spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

“She tested a very light positive for heart worm, but has been started on the slow kill heart worm method,” she said.

Sugar has been at the shelter since January.

Flap Jack is a one to two-year-old male domestic longhair.

“He is a friendly boy who likes to be pet, but will hiss when approached and purrs while receiving them,” Serena said. “He will occasionally meow to get your attention. He very much dislikes being cooped up in a kennel and looks angry all the time.”

Flap Jack isn't as grumpy as he looks.

Flap Jack is not a fan of being held, but that may change once he is out of the shelter.

He is neutered, microchipped, partially vaccinated, de-wormed and litter box trained.

“Come foster this handsome fella to see if he is a good fit for you,” Serena said.
