The Bosque River Centre has a new owner.
The Dallas-based Harkinson Investment Corporation acquired the property on Wednesday from ORDA Corporation, which had owned it since 2013.
“We’re really happy to be a part of Stephenville,” said HIC executive vice president Josh Harkinson. “It’s a charming town with a strong economy and it’s only going to get better due to the growth of Tarleton State University.”
Bosque River Centre is home to the No. 2 best-performing Tractor Supply out of 234 locations in Texas.
“It didn’t surprise us given that Stephenville is Cowboy Capital of the World,” Harkinson said.
Other popular stores at Bosque River Centre include 4 Kids Only, Hibbett Sports, Dollar Tree, Cinemark, Spec’s, Swindle’s Jewelry and CiCi’s Pizza.
“Bosque River Centre has a great mix of shopping, restaurant and entertainment options and we’re going to make sure that they continue to thrive,” Harkinson said.
His group plans to refresh the center with new paint, a parking lot upgrade and other deferred maintenance fixes.
Bosque River Centre was originally constructed in 1984 by an investment group that included VW Stephens, who later sold his interest in the property but has remained onboard as the property manager.
At 220,000 square feet, it is still one of the largest shopping centers in Stephenville.
