Newton’s Cellar located on the Erath County courthouse square has expanded its restaurant with a bar and lounge that offers full-service dining, an exquisite selection of craft cocktails, wine, whiskey, bourbon and beer.

Construction on Newton’s Saddlerack has been underway for months and the public got its first glimpse inside the new building last weekend.

“We will be functional beginning this weekend and we will remain open for holiday parties and private events,” Melanie Newton told Beneath the Surface News.

“We want Newton’s Saddlerack to feel like a lounge; a place where people can come and relax after a long day and enjoy a good whiskey,” Melanie said. “We have hired a couple of fantastic bartenders and we’ll offer a really fun list of high-end craft cocktails.”

Chef Mike Newton will continue to expand his evolving menu, whipping up seasonal fare and unique signature dishes he is known for.

The addition of Newton’s Saddlerack doubles the size of the restaurant’s current occupancy, boasting a Western flare, expansive granite bar, semi-circular booths and low lighting, creating a more intimate ambiance for diners.

An official grand opening celebration will take place in late January.
