One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Jack Frost, a two to three-year-old male shepherd mix.
“This super sweet boy loves to cuddle, go on walks and does pretty well on a leash,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.
“Squeaky toys are his favorite thing to play with and he does well with other dogs but a meet-and-greet is always recommended with other household dogs.”
Jack Frost is a cat chaser but did well with livestock when he was in foster care. He also does well with kids and strangers.
“He did try to go after the ducks, but quickly learned it wasn't a great idea,” Serena said.
Jack Frost is house-trained, but when in a new place will try to mark his territory.
He will need to be out in the yard or in a crate when left alone because he will get bored and chew on things.
Jack Frost is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.
He has been at the shelter since December.
Lyla is a three to four-year-old female domestic long-hair.
“This beauty is very sweet and lovable,” Serena said. “She loves attention and will come up to the kennel gate and meow.

“She has very little interest in toys, but loves lounging around in a comfy spot.
"We are not sure how she does with other animals because she was the only animal in her previous home.”
Lyla is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and litter box trained.
