‘Shop with a Cop’ and make a child smile this holiday season. (You will love this.)

Updated: Nov 6, 2021

Erath County law enforcement agencies are wasting no time getting into the holiday spirit.

The agencies are working together to raise money for the second annual “Shop with a Cop” program, aimed at giving local at-risk youth a merry Christmas.

"Shop with a Cop is such a heartwarming and inspiring event thanks to our giving community and county," Stephenville Police Chief Dan Harris told Beneath the Surface News. "We love creating great memories between our youth and officers that will last a lifetime."

You can sponsor a child for $200 or make a donation in any amount at First Financial Bank, Texas Department of Public Safety, Stephenville Police Department, Dublin Police Department and Erath County Sheriff’s Office.

The fun will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 21, when kids will be treated to breakfast with a cop, then taken to Walmart (with lights and siren) to pick out clothes, shoes and a special toy.

(And here’s something else: Captain James Gresham told me that Walmart has made a very generous donation this year.)
