SHS students qualify for state competition in UIL Theatrical Design.
Nine Stephenville High School students have qualified for state competition in UIL Theatrical Design.
The 2025 state finalists include:
· Lillian Gallagher - individual hair and makeup
· Kathryn Parish - individual set design
· Ashtynne Boyd - individual marketing & group costuming
· Claire Grove - group marketing
· Alison Lindsey - individual hair and makeup & group hair and makeup
· Elora Evans - individual costuming
· Mya Guay - group set design
· Ava Hunt - individual costuming
· Danika Garcia - individual marketing
The students will present and defend their designs in May at Austin ISD PAC.
“These students analyzed a play, Axoloris, and created unique designs in their category, inspired by an artist or artistic movement of their choice,” said SHS theatre coach Mindy McCleskey.
“They had to write a paper explaining their concept and choices.”
SHS has a long tradition of success in UIL Theatrical Design with most students competing and placing across all conferences in the state of Texas.
The students are also coached by Liz Stearnes.
