Stephenville ISD board of trustees meet weekly to hash out details of new football/soccer stadium.
The Stephenville ISD board of trustees is buckling down to hash out the details of a new football/soccer stadium residents will vote on Nov. 1.
Board president Chad Elms said the group will meet at 5:30 p.m. every Monday until the election.
“Our goal is to start work weekly to ensure we put together the best possible plan and stadium design for the public to vote on,” Elms told Beneath the Surface News. “As always, these meetings are open to the public for anyone wanting to come gather more information, give input or ask questions about the stadium bond.”
The estimated cost of the stadium, which will be located across from Henderson Junior High on land already owned by the district, is $39.9 million and will not come with a tax increase.
The current plan is to include 7,500 seats, a two-story press box, home and visitor concessions, restrooms and dressing rooms, accommodations for band members, cheerleaders and Stingerettes, 100-yard football field and state tournament-size soccer field.
If attending the meeting in person doesn’t fit your schedule, you can also watch it live on the Stephenville ISD Facebook page.
