Stephenville residence catches fire on New Year’s Eve; celebratory fireworks suspected as possible cause.

An early New Year’s Eve fireworks celebration is being investigated as the possible cause of a fire that damaged a home located in the 900 block of E. Riverside Drive in Stephenville.
In a statement from Stephenville Fire Chief Robert Isbell, the fire started shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday.
No one was injured in the incident and the home is reportedly a complete loss.
“Witnesses in the area reported seeing low flying fireworks just minutes before the fire broke out,” Isbell said in a press release to Beneath the Surface News.
“Considering this information, the Stephenville Fire Marshal’s Office, in conjunction with the Stephenville Police Department, is investigating the incident.”
