‘These are my people.’ Dr. Benjamin Marcum named January’s Hometown Hero.
Dr. Benjamin Marcum has been named January’s Hometown Hero, a program sponsored by Farmers Insurance agent Leslie Walker.
Dr. Marcum is a family medicine doctor at Stephenville Medical and Surgical Clinic who takes his responsibility as a physician seriously.
“People invite me into their lives and ask me to speak into what they are going through in a very intimate way. They honor me by asking me to shepherd them through trials – and asking me to protect their most valuable asset – their lives,” he told Beneath the Surface News.
Dr. Marcum and his wife Katie have two children, and when he’s not helping others, he enjoys fishing, hunting and traveling.
The thing he loves most about living and working in Erath County is “hands down – the people.”
“These are my people,” he said. “They love fiercely and give freely. They are full of grit and determination and represent the best of this country.”
Along with the honor, Dr. Marcum received a Certificate of Appreciation, gift basket and goodies for his co-workers.
