This sweet older male Hound mix was rescued from a neglectful owner. Now, he needs a quiet place to call home.

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Hunter, a seven to eight-year-old male Hound mix.

“He is a super sweet older guy that is very calm and quiet in his kennel,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

“He is crate and kennel-trained, so is probably house trained. He walks very well on a leash. For an older fellow, he likes to play and get the old man zooming with you.”

Hunter doesn’t like the loud environment at the shelter and will likely thrive in a quiet home.

He is believed to be dog friendly, but a meet-and-greet with current dogs in a household is always recommended.

Hunter is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.

He was seized in a neglect case.

Whiskey is a nine to 10-month-old male domestic shorthair.

“He is a very sweet boy that will talk to anyone who walks up to his kennel,” Serena said.

“He sometimes reaches through the bars to play and loves to bat toys around.”

He gets along well with other cats and dogs as long as they respect his space.

Whiskey is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed.

“He is litter box-trained, but was adopted from us and after he was neutered, he stopped using the litter box in the adopter’s home so he was returned,” Serena said.

“He has not had any issues using the litter box since he has been back.”
