Tragedy in Stephenville: 4-year-old child drowns at Splashville Saturday evening.

In what can only be described as a tragic accident, a four-year-old child drowned at Splashville in Stephenville on Saturday evening.

Police responded to the water park shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday and found lifeguards and citizens attempting to resuscitate the child.

The child was taken to Texas Health Stephenville where he passed away.

The incident is under investigation and no additional details are being released.

Stephenville City Manager Jason King said Splashville will remain closed until further notice.
