Try these pumpkin-based skin care products for brighter, smoother looking skin.

While pumpkin-based skin care products are fantastic throughout the year, they are really special to use during the autumn months.

Pumpkin benefits your skin in ways of enzymatic exfoliation, antioxidant properties, hydration and helps with inflammation.

Why is pumpkin good for your skin?

Carotenoids: The orange color of pumpkins is due to its high levels of carotenoids, specifically alpha-carotene and beta-carotene. Carotenoids are so nourishing.

Vitamins: Pumpkins are an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin A and vitamin E. Pumpkin also contains various B vitamins like niacin, riboflavin, and folate. B vitamins play an important role in skin care.

Minerals: The list of minerals found in pumpkin is extensive. The most important ones found in pumpkin are copper, zinc and potassium. All of these are fantastic for your skin.

Enzymes: Pumpkin is full of amazing natural fruit enzymes that do so many great things for your skin. Fruit enzymes are very popular in skin care products because they really transform your skin by exfoliating and brightening.

I have several favorite pumpkin masks that work great, but these two are some of my favorites.

One is a little pricey, the other is very affordable; both utilize pumpkin to exfoliate, brighten and tighten the skin in minutes.

Thomas Peter Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask: This powerful mask will remove dead skin cells on your face while exfoliating, making pores appear tighter. It also heals blemishes.

Bliss Pumpkin Mask: The mask brightens and hydrates the skin.

Make your own pumpkin lip scrub: Another favorite way to use pumpkin is making your own lip scrub with pumpkin puree, coffee and oils for soft, hydrated lips.
